The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra

The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, revered in the Vedic scriptures as the most powerful mantra for healing and protection, serves as the inspiration for the temple. This ancient, sacred verse is invoked especially during times of great crisis—a source of spiritual strength and solace when there is no hope and no other avenue remains. The mantra connects the devotee to the Supreme Consciousness, offering longevity, health, and freedom from the fear of death (Mrityu-Jaya).

Sacred Practices and How to Participate

We invite everyone to connect with the divine energy of Lord Shiva, Mahadev, through our regular practices:

• Sacred Mondays: Make a journey to the temple every Monday, a particularly auspicious day for Shiva. Simply offer water and flowers, make your compilation, and silently let your prayers go out into the cosmos. We trust that those prayers are always heard.
• The Holy Month of Shravan: During the holy month of Shravan (typically June/July), the Mondays are especially potent, featuring special pujas (worship ceremonies).

Rudra Abhishek

The temple makes available the sacred Rudra Abhishek, a powerful ritual that invokes the complete blessings of Lord Shiva, the Destroyer of Sorrows.

• Fulfill Any Wish: This deeply powerful ceremonial bathing of the Shivling can be performed anytime of the year to fulfill any wish, remove obstacles, and bring about spiritual prosperity and harmony.
• Sponsorship: This puja is a common and profound practice in India that Babaji has opened as an avenue here in the Sonoma Valley. The ritual can be sponsored and fully organized by the Ashram to fulfill your specific personal needs and intentions.
