VOLUNTEER WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT

Please read this document carefully. By clicking “YES”, you are waiving certain legal rights, including the right to bring legal actions against the Event Organizers, host entities, and affiliated parties.

1. Volunteer Acknowledgment & Scope of Service

I, the undersigned, desire to work as a volunteer for Sonoma Peace in the Plaza ( the “Event”). I understand that my participation is purely voluntary and that I am offering my services without expectation of monetary compensation, employee benefits, or future employment.

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participating as a volunteer may involve physical activity, including but not limited to: setting up and breaking down tables, chairs and decorations; standing or walking outdoors; handling event materials; directing crowd flow; and working around public outdoor areas.

I knowingly and freely assume all risks, both known and unknown, associated with my participation in the Event, including the risk of personal injury, illness, property damage, or loss.

3. Waiver and Release

I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless:

• Sonoma Peace in the Plaza organizers, committee members, directors, officers, employees, and agents;
• The City of Sonoma, its council members, officers, agents, and employees;
• Event sponsors, vendors, and community partners;

(collectively referred to as “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury (including death) that may be sustained by me while participating in any capacity in the Event to the fullest extent permitted by California law.

4. Medical Authorization & Emergency Treatment

I certify that I am physically fit to participate in the activities required for my volunteer role. In the event of an injury or medical emergency during the Event, I authorize the Event Organizers to secure necessary emergency medical treatment on my behalf. I agree to be financially responsible for any costs incurred as a result of such medical treatment.

5. Photo & Media Release

I grant permission to Sonoma Peace in the Plaza and its authorized representatives to take photographs, videos, and audio recordings of me during my volunteer service. I agree that these materials may be used for promotional, educational, or informational purposes across digital, social, and print media without compensation or prior approval.

6. Governing Law & Severability

This Waiver and Release shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. If any provision of this agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
