In consideration for permission to participate in the Personal Retreat Program (“Retreat”) of the Sonoma Ashram Foundation (SAF), and/or use the properties and facilities located in Sonoma, CA and/or Ft. Bragg, CA, I and all in my party agree to the following:

VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I/we recognize that SAF’s Retreat includes but is not limited to meditation instruction, gardening and other forms of seva (selfless service), which activities may include some form of physical exertion and/or strenuous activity.

I/we acknowledge that I am/we are in sufficient physical condition to participate in these activities and recognize that it is my/our responsibility to inform SAF’s representatives, teachers and/or assistants of any limitations or medical conditions that may affect my/our ability to participate. I am/we are voluntarily participating in these activities with full knowledge of the risks involved, and hereby assume any and all risks of harm that may result.

I/we understand that Upasana Hilltop Sanctuary is situated in a remote location and that as such there are attendant risks with regard to the timeliness of professional medical attention, should that become necessary. Further I/we understand that we assume any and all risks associated with walking or hiking on the surrounding trails.

RELEASE

In consideration for permission by SAF to participate in the Retreat programs and use its property, facilities, and/or services, I/we hereby release, waive and discharge any and all resulting claims, injuries or damages, including those for death, personal injury or property damage, with the exception of those excepted by law, that I/we, my/our assignees, heirs, guardians and legal representatives may have against SAF, its officers, directors, representatives, affiliates, employees, agents or volunteers.

I/we have carefully read this agreement and fully understand its contents. I am/we are aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between SAF and me/all in my party, and agree to it of my/our own free will.
