This 4-day, 3-night retreat includes the transformative practices of meditation, yoga, and Ayurvedic food and lifestyle practices for the summer season. Mornings will be in silence to encourage reflection. There will be a morning and evening Aarti (prayer and ceremony) which participants may attend.
We will nourished by balanced, home-cooked meals inspired by Ayurvedic principles.
This retreat is open to anyone who wishes to deepen their yoga practice and learn and adopt self-care practices from Ayurvedic wisdom.
The retreat will take place at Upasana Hilltop Sanctary approximately 20 miles north of Fort Bragg, CA.
Accommodations are both comfortable and close to nature. Options include double rooms, private/shared tent cabins, and camping on the land. All meals will be satvic vegetarian and prepared on site and made with fresh organic ingredients. When registering you can indicate any dietary restrictions and preferences. Yoga Classes will be taught by Sandy Lamerson and Yvonne Mayshark. Both will lead discussions on Ayurvedic lifestyle food and herbs as well as yoga philosophy discussions.
Sandy Lamerson (she/her) is a Level 2 Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and a NAMA Board Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor. Sandy has been a student of yoga and meditation for nearly two decades. Her study and practice of Ayurveda informs her yoga teaching and way of life. She appreciates the quiet, deep practice and connection with nature that a retreat can offer. Her classes are accessible and welcoming, balancing the physical and the internal dimensions of practice. Sandy teaches yoga classes and offers Ayurvedic consultations in Ukiah and online. Yvonne Mayshark is a trained in Clinical Herbalism, Ayurveda, Hatha Yoga, and yoga philosophy. She is the owner and founder of Bhoomi Herbs, an online apothecary offering herbal and Ayurvedic remedies. She teaches yoga and herbalism classes in Mendocino County, CA.
